Congratulations Julie Francis, ACHH Research Trainee and Research Coordinator

ACHH Initiative’s Research Trainee and Research Coordinator, Julie Francis, was named a Loretta Saunders Scholarship Awardee for 2017. This scholarship is for Indigenous women who are attending a post-secondary institution in Mi’kma’ki, Nunatsiavut, or Atlantic Canada and who have completed the equivalent of one year of post-secondary education in the previous two years. The applicants were adjudicated upon the basis of their scholastic achievement, service to Indigenous communities, community potential and financial need.

Julie completed her nursing education at Saint Francis Xavier University and works as the Community Health Nurse at Eskasoni Community Health Centre. She is now continuing to pursue her Masters Degree in Nursing at Dalhousie University while remaining an integral part of the ACHH Initiative. Congratulations, Julie!
