In our early research, Indigenous children were easily able to express their thoughts about hurt and pain in their drawings. Art sessions became a critical way for us to truly hear and see their stories.
In 2015, Mi’kmaq artist Alan Syliboy facilitated half day art sessions with children and youth from participating communities. Watch this short documentary to learn about these sessions and the work that was created as a result.
