Art From The Heart

Throughout 2015 internationally-renowned Mi’kmaq artist Alan Syliboy facilitated community art sessions with four groups of children aged 8-17. 42 pieces of artwork were collected as a result of these sessions.

With assistance from the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, Art From the Heart – a traveling exhibit – was created which showcases a selection of pieces.

Art From the Heart has traveled to many locations across Canada and is now available as an online book.

These art pieces are remarkable works of art that have inspired and comforted others. Clinicians, leaders and the public have been able to view firsthand the impact of pain on Indigenous children’s lives through these pieces.
